February!
February in the salon is about evaluating.
Seeing where we’re going and just as importantly analysing where we’ve come from.
December is the busiest trading period for any salon or hospitality business.
We have to plan our year ahead taking current and future trends into consideration. There are lots of ways of keeping up with styles and the latest trends.
Our trading partners, Milkshake and Schwarzkopf are innovators and we owe it to our customers to be able to stay on top.
Business as usual for us, however it’s always a pleasure when we meet a new client but this particular one, left an imprint on our hearts!
An unforgettable appointment
One of our highlights this week was a visit from a little girl and her mum, who had been growing her hair her whole life and had never had a haircut.
She wanted to grow it as long as possible to have it cut and donate it all to charity.
What an amazing little girl she is!
After the initial consultation with Richard, he measured her hair and tied it into several plaits and after checking many times along the way with our delightful girl, the green light was given to chop away!
She smiled the whole way through and didn’t waver.
Richard then washed her hair and set about levelling it up and creating a lovely wearable style.
She just happened to have the most beautiful rich auburn hair colour and once cut, it bounced into a gorgeous wavy bob.
We were so taken with this very special girl – it should never be underestimated what it feels like to have very long hair cut off and she rocked the look perfectly!
The hair plaits will now be sent off to a charity for the next stage of the process and the little girl’s mum has promised to keep in touch to let us know what happens.
