Ten years ago, we closed the salon doors for 3 weeks and embarked on a complete facelift!
Our salon was created in 1990, and it was beautifully crafted to last.
After 25 years, hard wear and tear Mel decided 77 The Hill needed a re-vamp and a new salon was born!
The refit was entirely different to the original salon; it has a more modern feel with 3 extra work stations added to allow more flexibility.
An extra backwash was added, too.
We celebrated with an opening night party and have taken on many new challenges since then.
Hair salons have had to evolve to facilitate all the changes that have happened in the last 10 years on the high street and within the industry.
Salons are a huge part of the high street; however, many are struggling or even closing due to constraints on employment, business rates and high taxes, not to mention the devastation of covid restrictions.
There have been many salon closures in Enfield town in recent years, including big names such as Rush.
We feel extremely lucky to have survived, and not only that, but we exceeded expectations!
We aren’t in the main high street and are slightly out of town, which could have been a disadvantage, but seemingly it hasn’t affected footfall, and we get a good percentage of walk-in customers.
The salon feels good and holds everything together when we are at our busiest.
With 35 years under our belts and a lot of years of experience between us – over 150 years to be exact…we will try our hardest to keep up with trends, be competitive and listen to what our clients want.
We aren’t planning on any more refits just at the moment – apart from anything else, the salon is too busy – it would be very difficult to close for another 3 weeks!
