Wrapping up!
Our team at 77 The Hill has had a really great year.
Our team has grown, with Eleni now a fully-fledged stylist and Richard being promoted to hair director.
We have welcomed over 500 new clients this year, which is amazing and we are so grateful.
We work hard to keep them coming back with a warm welcome and a great hair service however, we don’t take things for granted and try not to get complacent.
If it wasn’t for you, our lovely clientele, there wouldn’t be a salon…
Challenges for small businesses
2025 has been a tough year for small businesses, not only have national insurance contributions gone up but there are other taxes that we, as a business have had to take on.
National insurance contributions alone mean having to find an extra £1000 per employee per year. This is preventing salons taking on apprentices. The extra money has to be found in staff performance, when there is already pressure on their time.
We try to keep our price increases to a minimum but lately we have had to give in and raise them. This slows growth as people are already struggling and sometimes, if hairdressing is seen as a luxury, or going for a nice meal out, or buying that handbag then that may have to be sacrificed.
Looking ahead to 2026
Our team remain positive and are always ready to take new clients and continue to look after their regular ones.
We are taking a well-earned break after Christmas Eve and the salon will be open again on Tuesday 30th December.
It has been an absolute pleasure and honour to look after so many of you during the past year and we are excited for many new things happening in 2026.
That just leaves us to say thank you for your support this year and wish all of our clients old and new a very happy Christmas and New Year.
