Overall, 2024 has been good in the salon…
For hairdressing in general, it’s more of a mixed bag.
Some good, some not so good.
Our industry is constantly moving and changing. It has to be that way to keep up with trends and stay ahead of competition. Competitiveness can bring out the best in our creativity and that, after all, is what hairdressing is about!
Salon owners have had it tough since the pandemic in so many ways. Most are still recovering in some way. Costs have risen astronomically, utility bills have gone up and general running costs are high for any salon or shop.
Hairdressing can be very challenging and customers understandably, demand the highest service and outcomes.
Generally speaking, people of an artistic nature relish the opportunity to show off their skills and why many who are, go in to the hair industry.
Still a wonderful place to work
On a more positive note, hairdressing is still one of the happiest work spaces to work in. The majority of people we get to meet are truly lovely and many become friends over many years.
There is no better feeling – even after many years of being a stylist – when a client is happy with their hair. We always know when we’ve done our very best work and a cheeky self-congratulatory nod is a special feeling!
Balayage has become the go to colour for our hair. It’s an enjoyable technique of painting colour and has endless possibilities. Over 60% of clients have some sort of hair colour and there’s never been a better time to have it!
Hair colour is all about improving condition and helping hair porosity to keep colour intensity. Our team take education very seriously and this is another huge reason to trust us with colouring your hair.
Moving forward into 2025
Going into 2025, we will continue to get the best training and improve wherever possible.
New and exciting things are coming and we’re looking forward to sharing them with you in the near future.
There are a few appointments left before Christmas but not many, so be quick!
Our new opening times kick in from January 2nd and we will be closing earlier on Saturdays. There will be more appointments available on alternate late evenings, Thursdays and Fridays.
