The C word…
How early is too early to talk about Christmas?
Most shops have now got most of their Christmas products on display and Christmas cards and large tubs of chocolates, have been on display in supermarkets since the beginning of September!
More and more people are putting their decorations up earlier and earlier and it seems that we can’t get enough of the Christmas vibe!
In retail, planning starts months ahead of December and sometimes it starts as New Year arrives. Clothing ranges are decided on way ahead too, which can be costly in terms of losses if the weather goes against the stock and many retailers lose out in this way.
At 77 The Hill, we have to plan ahead for Christmas retail packs and salon opening hours. So it seems that even if you want to, you cannot avoid the impending festivities and sooner or later the early Xmas paraphernalia, will get to you!
Starting the gift shopping early, makes sense on many levels. Firstly, it avoids overcrowding and finding precious parking spaces and secondly, you can budget and not worry about finding the money in one go.
We ask our clients how they feel about having Christmas thrust upon them early and most of you said, you think some of it is way too early however you also accept that it is inevitable and whilst you can’t avoid it, you can skirt around it if you have to!
