A special cutting course!

This week at 77 The Hill, two of our lovely stylists, Michaela and Eleni, attended a cutting course run by the brilliant Alex Walker from Alex Walker Hair Educator.

Alex specialises in short haircuts and has been taking his skills to the West Country and beyond to train other stylists.

As you will know from previous salon news, we take our team development very seriously. We can all learn and keep competitive by staying ahead of trends and being able to step out of our comfort zones and be prepared to make some mistakes.

A person cannot learn from doing everything perfectly!

So cutting training is paramount for our stylists as it is our most popular styling service and it has always been a continual journey from when we qualify as trained hairdressers!

The morning session with Alex, was about theory and the use of the correct products for the right hair type. The afternoon session was practical, where Michaela and Eleni used blocks to cut a short hair style and a curly hair cut!

They both really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot.

Each of our stylists brings back newly learned skills to the salon so that the whole team can benefit from the course.

We ensure that all members of staff attend as many courses as possible throughout the year. There is always something for everyone –some more specialised than others.
