November News 19!

November is traditionally a quieter time in hairdressing before the Xmas parties start and clients wanting their hair to look the best it can.

For salons, this is a useful time to reflect on the past year and plan for the future. Along with team hairdos! It’s important for our hair to always look good, as we are the people customers see in the salon and its living proof of what we can do.

77 The Hill has had a great year. Our lovely new stylist Richard has been with us a whole year now and we can’t believe how quickly that has gone. He is building a great customer base and is proving to be a great team member.

Much needed and well deserved

Our director, salon owner and all round mentor Mel, who has worked tirelessly to make the business successful has decided to take some time out starting in February. We think he absolutely deserves it and should put his feet up and holster his scissors for a while!

There are still a few appointments for January with him and he will be personally recommending team members to all of his wonderful clients. He will be back at some point but we are excited for the future and how close we are as a team – bring on the challenge!

Photo shoot

There has been a buzz in the salon since our photo shoot and we can’t wait to show off our photos. There is nothing quite like showing off and what better way to do it than displaying our work in the salon. All our photos on display are stylists own work from various photo shoots but our latest one is with our own models, clothing, make-up artist and photographer. This is something to be proud of!

Hair news

Balayage is the most requested hair colour and we love the effects of this beautifully versatile colour method. Creativity is at the heart of all stylists and balayage allows us to create endless possibilities for your hair.

Virtually anyone can have balayage however there are a few exceptions.

  • Hair condition: If your hair is too damaged from previous colour, it may be inadvisable to use lightener but it can be managed to bring hair back to good condition using Fibreclinix treatments.
  • Hair length: shorter, layered styles are not suitable for using the balayage style as the colour only goes on the mid-lengths and ends. There is literally no room for the colour on the hair.
  • Home products: Some box colours used at home are incompatible with professional products and would need a compatibility test first.
  • Allergy: A patch test is always required for any new clients and annually for exiting customers approximately 48 hours before any colour service.

And finally….

We have some lovely hair products for Christmas gifts and vouchers for your friends and family to come and try somewhere new.
