Lights, Camera, Action!
There are various ways of promoting the work that goes on in a salon.
Social media is a great way to spread the word using images and hashtags and of course other media channels such as Facebook or this very website.
The best way by far is actually in the salon. Word of mouth is an incredible tool that can be used to enhance the customer experience, using feedback from reviews and recommendations.
A good way of showing our work in another light is to use photographs – either through social media or within the salon. Displaying pictures of our own work on the walls of the salon is the ultimate gallery. There is a captive audience – as long as they’re placed carefully in view of the customer at different points of the customer journey.
There is a mountain of photos and images available for us to use in the salon, from various professional bodies but our director, Mel, has always insisted that we display our own work. All of our stylists have attended various photoshoots in the last few years and we even did our own shoot in 2019 just a few months before covid hit.
We were delighted to be invited to the very latest shoot, which took place this week at The White Rabbit Studios along with our partners Schwarzkopf.
Mel chose Richard and our wonderful apprentice Michaela to accompany him this time and a good time was had by all three of them.
Mel allowed his inner style and panache to flow! The results will be available to see very soon.
Covid Update
We take our advice from the NHBF who recommend carrying on all the measures we have been doing already. Working up close and personally with clients all day, in a small space, puts the team at a certain level of risk. We feel there is a higher risk to staff than clients.
The team will continue to wear masks and our strict sanitising regime is still in full swing. We are continuing with disposable gowns and towels and using our screen dividers. We prefer it if our clients wear masks but it’s of course, no longer the law.
We will keep making our salon the safest it can be for everyone.
