November…
In the world of hairdressing, November can be a strange month!
Some clients, hold off having their hair cut and coloured to wait for Christmas but others carry on with their normal appointment schedule.
Last year, November was a washout as another lockdown was announced… Like many others, our industry suffered greatly, only trading for a few months of the year. When we returned to work on December the 2nd, we were happy and grateful to be back.
We knew that we could fulfil our December appointments and give all our lovely clients the hair they desired, in time for Christmas!
Or so we thought…
Everything came crashing down with only 4 working days left to Christmas.
Our clients that had waited until December to have a hair appointment and our clients that had hair appointments booked in November, had to go without.
As it turned out, Christmas was cancelled and no one went anywhere!
This year, feels entirely different. Of course, we don’t know what could happen between now and then but it doesn’t feel like we will be in the same position as last year regarding another lockdown.
We have been busy planning for Christmas AND November!
This week we managed to fit in an afternoon of training with Armando from Schwarzkopf. It was a fun session working on a couple of models and having training on some new toners and products.
Mel demonstrated his cutting skills on our lovely Michaela, giving her a new look! She then had some balayage created by Angela and Richard to enhance the final look.
Having models really helps with training and development. Especially when there is a colour correction or colour change.
Every stylist is on a continuous learning curve.
We can all keep learning to avoid complacency and to keep offering our clients the best service we possibly can.
