Sometimes, change in the workplace is welcomed…
Sometimes it is feared…
Always, it is necessary!
We have to evolve, even when we think things are working really well and that improvements would be limited at this point.
Change can be implemented by management, for example new opening hours to be competitive, or by outside influences such as prices or change in product ingredients.
Change can also arise from employees, such as pregnancy or a new skill learned.
Small changes happen all the time and are fairly easy to adjust to. However – occasionally, there are big changes to adapt to, which need to be managed well and take time to settle.

77 The Hill have some big changes coming…
We are sad but also happy to announce that Mel, our director and salon owner, is trying out retirement in the New Year!
Mel has worked tirelessly, apart from a few holidays, in the salon for 33 years. Although he will be sorely missed by the whole team and many clients, we think he deserves some ‘proper’ time off!
He assures us he will be coming in regularly – which of course we welcome – as long as he’s happy and not grumpy!
We will do everything possible to look after his clients and carry on as per normal.
On top of this, Leanne is also leaving us and we wish her lots of love and good luck in her new business venture away from hairdressing.
Mel and Leanne will both be missed but as the old saying goes, as one door closes another one opens!
Our lovely Michaela is fast approaching her qualification in level 2 hairdressing and will, as a graduate stylist be able to take on some work at a fantastically reduced rate.
